For Easter I went to a potluck and as my dish I decided to bring some booze to keep things klassy. Since this was supposed to be a daytime affair, I decided to make something colorful and make a white sangria of some sort. After posting the picture of the finished product online, I got several requests for the recipe, so I decided to share.
The recipe can serve eight, or one thirsty bitch (like me). So here's what you need:
- 2 750 mil. bottles of dry white wine (I used Pinot Grigio, but Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc will work too)
- 3/4 lb. of fresh strawberries cut into quarters.
- 1 heaping 1/2 cup of blueberries
- 1 package of raspberries.
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 lime, thinly slices
- The juice of half a lemon
-5 Tablespoons of simple syrup
-7 shots of Grand Marnier. 1 for you and 6 for the sangria YEPA! (Triple Sec will work too)
Find yourself a gallon sized pitcher to put all of this in. Pour all of the fruit and simple syrup, try to coat all of the fruit in the simple syrup without ripping apart the fruit. Add the Grand Marnier and finally add the two bottles of wine, stir slightly to make sure it's all well incorporated. It will be good to drink after four hours, but the longer you let it chill in the fridge the better. I let mine rest overnight in the refrigerator.
